Hello There depicts a lovely bay thoroughbred mare named Roo that I used to ride when I lived in Arizona. She unfortunately had problems with ulcers and founder and no one at the time could help here besides giving her bute (horse aspirin), feeding her hay cubes, and keeping her in heartbar shoes and pads to ease the pain she experienced. It was not a way any horse should live their life. I'm not sure what became of her or if she's still at the ranch I volunteered at, but I hope she's doing well. Knowing what I know now about horse nutrition, and natural barefoot trimming methods, I'd love to be given the chance to go back in time armed with knowledge to help her heal. As it is, I look forward to helping foundered horses as a board member of Amanda's Foundered Friends: Horse and Equine Rescue. All proceeds from the sale of this drawing goes to benefit the rescue.
