Ginger, horse portrait

Ginger is owned by my best friend Sheila. Together she and I and a few more friends have founded a horse rescue; Amanda's Foundered Friends: Horse and Equine Rescue., a rescue specifically designed to take in foundered horses. Ginger has been in Sheila's life since she was just a filly of 3 years old. I really screwed up the near ear, and perhaps someday, I will redo the portrait with a much better ear! In the original photo, Ginger's ears where turned back, so I had to make up her ear using other photo references. What I do love about this portrait is the depth of her expression.
